I have to admit that I LOVE these buildings. Sure, they are absolutely ghastly and annoying when you have to see them every day, but they make great landmarks. To the best of my knowledge there is no building inspection in Egypt so people can get away with all sorts of horrendous constructions. This particular one has been about 5 years in the making and is on Road 213, near the American school in Maadi.

Do you also have earthquakes there you live? If so that would soon weed out the bad construction sites. I like this building too. It was built with some unusual elements.

We do have earthquakes but so far they have been totally unsuccessful in demolishing a great number of very deserving buildings. Too bad. I agree about the unusual elements. In fact, I think that the entire building is a conglomeration of them. Sort of as if they put them into a black bag, shook it and then pulled them out randomly. LOL
Is this a private building? A block of apartments? A family house? It looks very impressive although I see it's not in the style of local architecture. I hope it's safely built!
Good photo.
thats a very nice building. just wanna ask whats the building house for? is it government offices or private use? very nice
It seems to be apartments and it would appear that some diplomat thought it nice because there apparently is a guard post for a diplomat near the front door. Don't know whose however.
Oooh boy, I've seen similar things in parts of Asia. I think your shake-it-up-in-a-bag remark is bang on!
Wow, what a beautiful villa! Lovely.
Any tax relief or state tax relief or that?
