Picture Of A Possible Disaster
These are mango flowers. In February. Our mango trees should not be flowering now and if we have a week or so of cold weather in March or April, as is entirely possible, we won't see any mangoes because the flowers will fall.
We are experiencing the same potential disasters here in the Pacific Northwest-- our apple trees didn't experience the frost and snow they need to be exposed to in order to produce fruit in the fall... and apples are our main commodity in Washington state. The cherry trees, crocuses, and azaleas are in full bloom in February... very strange weather indeed.
Mango trees can get pretty big here but they keep them relatively small to make it easy to pick the fruit. But we had one in our garden that was probably about 60 feet tall.
Oh no! That would be a pretty big disaster for Egypt.
