Fire Season

The flame trees (poinciana) are in bloom now and they light up the roads, countrysides and gardens. They provide beautiful shade all summer and then the leaves fall in the winter. A perfect Egyptian shade tree.

They are lovely trees, with their bright red colors and all the shade they provide.

Hello, Maryanne:

I came across your site while visiting Rapunzel, and just had to stop by and check out your pictures. I was lucky enough to spend a week in Egypt after an East African safari a few years ago.

I remember these trees well, though we didn't see them in such bloom. Egypt had been on my wish list for a lifetime, and its beauty did not let me down once there.

If you don't mind, I'll pop over and visit again. I have only done a few posts on Egypt so far...it's clearly time I did more...:)
