Our fields are amazingly fertile and supply Egypt with its vegetables. This is all done with irrigation since essentially it doesn't rain. Summers are hard here for my work, riding and teaching, because they are so hot but shady trails and the cooling effect of evaporation help a lot.
That shade does look refreshing. We're wishing for rain here. It's very dry.
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited Egypt 18 months ago, our guide said that if we walked up to an eight year old in Luxor and asked him to describe rain, he would stare with no comprehension. He has never seen rain. The last rain in Luxor was at that time nine years earlier. Amazing.
