Arglish

The best thing about shopping at Carrefour is the guy who writes the signs for the specials and sometimes just the regular signs identifying products. In all fairness, if I were to try to write in Arabic, my spelling mistakes would probably be MUCH, much worse...but then I'm sensible and stick to a language that I actually do know how to speak and spell.

LOL...I think learning to decipher that signs w/ their English translation becomes a bit of an art!

Hahaha. In Abu Dhabi there's a shop selling "humburgers."

That's so funny, I have friends in Malaysia right now and they run into this all the time.

I thought you'd also enjoy this link:

The "Photomann" put together a collection of vending machines in Japan, they're hilarious.

I see similar things here in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Strange combinations of English and German. Sometimes, the name and the thing are completely at odds, e.g. a "Fitness Teller (plate)" under the salad section which can consist of deep fried items and shredded vegetables drenched in mayo...

Finally Internet (Because I can have Internet only the weekend and the public holidays), I can visit your blog. This weekend I present Martel in version black and white. I prefer the photographs in b&w and you?
