Who Needs Traffic Cones?

A recent New York Times article on the theft of manhole covers in the US prompted me to take some photos of the creative ways in which the people of Giza mark the missing manhole covers in our roads. This one looks a lot like a scarecrow.

Haha! A little more dramatic than a little stick with flagging tape on it we sometimes use to mark our badger holes on our trails for riding!

Stealing manhole covers?! I'll have to look for that article.
I'm thinking of doing a series on how many men does it take to open a manhole.
Love the marker on your road using local materials!
