Antique Seating

I was in a large village nearby and we were parked on the side of the road to pick up some things from a hardware store when I noticed these stone posts placed against a wall. Then I realised that these were large chunks of stone pillars, probably some that had been dug up by someone plowing.

Hi there,

I just started following your blog a couple days ago. I look forward to seeing pics and hearing your daily stories about Egypt....I've always been fascinated about this country and look forward to visiting it one day. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!

When I see something ancient like those former columns I always wonder about the workers who formed them centuries ago. What was their life like, what were their aspirations and their dreams, little knowing that in the year 2011 someone on the other side of the world would be looking at their handiwork.
