A Bad Angle

I've had computer problems at the worst possible time lately. The end of Ramadan is celebrated with a roughly four or five day holiday, Eid el Fitr (the Feast of Fastbreaking...known in our household as the Cookie Feast), and woe betide anyone who needs a computer tech as it starts. So my good laptop got very ill and I'm using an old one for daily emails...but my photos all upload sideways. I'm off to the Apple folk today.

If you can figure out how to get the direction correct (and I can't despite spending hours and hours beating my head on the keyboard) this is a photo of the sunrise prayer, the special prayer done on the first day of the feasts under the open sky near Abu Sir. Children play in the desert while older brothers and fathers pray.

That's a wonderful scene. Don't worry, we can turn our head.
Good luck with the computer.
Eid mubarak.

Do you upload your pics into iphoto? If so, on the bottom left of the screen (once you've selected your pic) is a button to turn the photo 90 degrees. Keep hitting until you like it. Then you can save it and it will export correctly into your blog or wherever else you want it. Not sure if that helps... :)

My nice laptop is currently getting a new system and applications when they went missing during a defragmentation session. I'm using an old Mac and it has some rather interesting bugs. The photos show up fine in iPhoto and even in Preview, and then upload to Blogger off by 90 degrees. Most frustrating. But I lost my nice little Cybershot getting out of the jeep at Carrefour...think it fell under the car...so I'm using a Nokia for photography for the time being. Life is such fun.

Good luck with the computer problems. I know exactly how you feel. I even work in technology, but it still mystifies me.
