Homemade Playground

Some children in a village play in an abandoned truck that was parked across the alley from an animal shelter near us. Of course this would be considered terrible in the "civilised" world, but I would have loved it as a kid.

I think most of us would have.

My sister-in-law continually wonders how I survived childhood. Our toys were not unlike this truck: stuff we found, scrounged, or built from (rusty) scraps.

I feel quite akin to these kids and their treasure.

That looks like a great place to play. Wish I could play in the truck with my 2 grandboys, we'd have a lot of fun. But no.... too dangerous for kids these days. Everything has to be made of plastic with rounded edges.... we are creating a nation of sissies!
