I guess they have to look for feed somewhere
Goats and sheep provide a very important service in the countryside. They eat extra vegetation that grows along the canals, they eat the trimmings from gardens and orchards and they eat the stems from harvested crops while aerating the soil with their small feet and fertilising it. The whole world is an ecosystem.
