No What?

"Egypt is the land where everything is forbidden and anything is possible." according to my late husband and I've seen nothing to contradict that.

Is that akin to the Ten Commandments being nowadays more like the Ten Suggestions?
Ahh, but who could resist climbing on those beautiful massive stones?

Maryanne Stroud Gabbani: Hierophant
Lone observer in the crowd. Sees with a different eye. Finds the profound within the ordinary. Is neither lonely or bored. Self fulfilling. Moved by the inner spirit. Returned to Egypt by the latent karma of hundreds of incarnations. Is home now.

Really. Irresistible climbing the stones. Even more irresistible clicking them with the sign 'no climbing'.

very nice photo - it's amazing how large the blocks are... the sign is funny too, i guess it's ok as long as they don't climb up too high. =)

An activity possibly as old as the pyramids themselves????

Your late husband's quote brought a big smile to my face. I discovered the truth of it back in the 80s and 90s, when I travelled a lot, and saw Egypt four times.

Your blogs take me back to the best years of my life. Sooner or later, I will return to the Middle East, if only for a visit, and if I'm still healthy, another ride in the desert on one of those magnificent Arab horses.
